16-19 Bursary Fund

Studying at sixth form college, can be expensive with buying lunch, travel and books, but you might be able to receive financial support during your time at college.

The 16-19 Bursary Fund provides financial support to help students overcome the specific financial barriers they may face when remaining in education.

There are 2 types of 16-19 bursaries:

Bursaries for defined vulnerable students of up to £1200 a year
Discretionary bursaries which are awarded to students based on the funding rules in the guidance

How To Apply

When applying for bursary funding you will need to have your own bank account, as funds need to be deposited into an account that is in your name only (not a parent or guardian).

Check out the application guidance attached to this page and complete the form, if you feel you qualify for the additional financial support on offer. New applications for Bursary Funding should be made via our Bursary Application System on applicaa.

Students MUST register first before completing the online application form. Applications may be made after the deadline (usually around the end of September) if your family’s financial circumstances change.
